Optical Smoke Alarm with Heat Sensor

INSTRUCTION

MANUAL

Please read the entire instruction manual before use and save it for

future reference. We reserve the right for any errors in the text or

images and any necessary changes made to technical data. If you

have any queries, please contact our sales representative.

Location of smoke alarms

• Fit smoke alarms in all escape routes and on each oor

level in your home. Good places to t alarms are where

you can hear them throughout your home. For example:

Top of the staircase, Stair landings, Between living and

sleeping areas etc.

• For additional protection, put a smoke alarm in each

room- except in the kitchen and or the cooking area,

bath rooms or garage, where smoke or steam can set

them of accidentally.

• Always make sure that the sound of the smoke alarms

can be heard in the sleeping areas/bedrooms.

• Additional smoke alarms could give earlier warning

and increase the chance of safe escape and rescue from

a re.

• If it is dicult to place a single alarm use two or more

to get sucient protection.

Do not put smoke alarms in the following locations:

• Near the angle between the ceiling and walls where

the air stands still and forms a dead air space, that pre-

vents smoke from reaching the smoke alarm.

• Close to a uorescent or halogen light tting or led-

lamps, which emit electrical noise that can prevent

correct smoke alarm operation.

• In kitchens, garages, bathrooms or other high humidity

areas, or where combustion particles can cause nuisance

alarms.

• Near fresh air vents, fans or extractors. Draughts can

blow smoke away from the alarm.

• In areas where excessive dust or dirt could contaminate

the sensing chamber, making the device over or under

sensitive.

• In areas where the ambient temperature may drift be-

low 5°C or above 40°C. High humidity could also cause

nuisance alarms.

• In insect infested areas, insects can clog smoke open-

ings and or cause nuisance alarms.

• Do not paint or cover the smoke alarm.

CIRCULATING AIR SUPPLY

1. Remove the mounting plate by twisting it anticlock-

wise.

2. Insert two AAA/LR03 size 1.5V alkaline batteries.

3. Press the test button to test the alarm.

4. Check that the red led-lamp inside the cover, ashes

every minute. (The lamp are visible under the test

button)

Inserting batteries and testing

If the alarm gives a nuisance sound, press the test but-

ton once briey to silence the alarm and to temporarily

reduce the sensitivity of the alarm for roughly 10 min-

utes (thereafter the alarm will return to full sensitivity).

Pause function

1. Test the smoke alarms at least once every month by

means of the test button and preferably once a week,

e.g. when you clean the house.

2. Always test the smoke alarms after returning from

holidays or after being away for a prolonged period of

time.

3. The test button accurately tests the smoke alarms

sensing circuit, there is no need to test your alarm with

real smoke or open re!

4. The smoke alarm sounds when the test button is

pressed shortly or as long as there is smoke in the detec-

tion chamber.

5. Make sure the batteries are correctly connected.

Replace the batteries if the smoke alarm does not sound

or indicates low bat.

6. Below the cover is a red led-lamp which ashes

every minute, it shows that the smoke alarm is working

properly.

7. Vacuum the smoke alarms at least every six months

and wipe them with a damp cloth.

8. Replace the smoke alarm before 10 years of use.

When a smoke alarm detects smoke (or temperatures

over 54°C) it will sound with a continuous pulsating

alarm, at the same time, the red led-lamp will ash

continuously, please check “Overview Alarms & signal

functions”

Test and care

Batteries last for up to 5 years, depending on bat-

tery type. About one month before the batteries are

completely discharged, the smoke alarm will start to

emit short signals “chirps”, about every minute. This is

the battery replacement signal. Replace batteries with

1.5V AAA/LR03 alkaline: e.g. Deltronic, Varta or Duracell.

Always test a smoke alarm after replacing the batteries!

fects in material, workmanship, or design under normal

use and service for a period of 5 years. This guarantee is

not assignable. Our liability to you, under this guarantee

is limited to repairing or replacing any part which we

nd to be defective in material, workmanship or design,

free of charge to the customer, upon sending (postage

paid) or supplying the alarm with proof of purchase. The

terms of this guarantee will not apply if the alarm has

been modied, dismantled, contaminated, damaged

neglected or otherwise abused, or if this instruction

manual have not been followed.

The liability of Deltronic Security AB arising from the

sale of this alarm or under the terms of this guarantee

shall not in any case exceed the cost of replacement of

the alarm.

In no case, shall Deltronic Security AB be liable for con-

sequential loss or damage resulting from the failure of

the alarm, or the breach of this or any other guarantee,

expressed or implied or for damage caused by failure to

abide by the instructions supplied. The guarantee does

not aect your statutory rights.
