The manually inflated lifejacket can be inflated
in two different ways:
a. Manual inflation
The lifejacket inflates with a strong pull of
the release handle placed at the right-hand
side of the lifejacket.
b. Oral inflation
Open the protective cover and blow air into
the oral inflation tube placed on the left-
hand side of the buoyancy chamber.
WARNING: User must inflate the PFD for
flotation and face-up righting.
WARNING: Although it has been tested to
withstand excess pressure, never inflate the
buoyancy chamber by mouth before inflation.
4. MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of your lifejacket as well as initial
testing is essential to your safety in case of an
accident.
Recreational use:
It is recommended that you hand in your
lifejacket for service every second year at a
VIKING certified servicing station.
Professional use:
It is recommended that you hand in your
lifejacket for service annually at a VIKING
certified servicing station.

Note: If the lifejacket is equipped with an
automatic Halkey Roberts
®
inflator, the bobbin
must be replaced annually from first use. Do
not use bobbins more than four years old. The
production date is printed on the bobbin itself.
4.1 CHECKING BEFORE USE
Regularly check that the lifejacket is intact by
inflating it and leaving it inflated for 12 hours.
Check that the lifejacket is undamaged.
Check before each use according to
manufacturer’s instruction:

1. You may inflate the lifejacket orally.
Then repack it as described in Packing
(4.3). Note: Avoid activating the
inflator.
2. Check oral inflation valve and tube.
3. Check whistle.
4. Check straps and buckles.
5. Open the protective cover at its right
side and check the inflator:
Automatic inflator:
a. The indicator must be green.
b. The lifejacket must be equipped
with a 60 g CO
2
cylinder.
Manual inflator:
a. The green lock pin must be
mounted in the inflator.
b. The lifejacket must be equipped
with a 60g CO2 cylinder.
c. The opening of the CO2 cylinder
must not be pierced – check by
unscrewing the CO2 cylinder.
d. Install the CO2 cylinder into the
inflator and hand tighten.
6. Close the protective cover.
WARNING: Check the status of the gas cylinder
before each use. Ensure the cylinder is not
pierced and is screwed in tight. Failure to do this
may result in the PFD failing to inflate correctly.

®
inflator
1. Open the protective cover at its right
side and check the inflator.
Note: The inflator does not function if:
- There is air in the buoyancy
chamber.
- Expiry date is overdue.
- The indicator in the yellow
hydrostatic inflator is red.
2. The lifejacket must be equipped with a
60 g CO2 cylinder.
3. Check the oral inflation valve and tube.
4. Check whistle.
1. DESCRIPTION
The VIKING RescYou
TM
Horizon (PV9210)
lifejacket is an inflatable lifejacket.
The lifejacket conforms to the regulation (EU)
2016/425 of the European Parliament and the
Council and complies with EN ISO 12402-2:2020
(automatic) or 12402-6:2020 (user assissted PFD
– manual only without cylinder seal indication).
The lifejacket is type examined by Force
Certification, NB0200, Park Allé 345, DK-2605
Brøndby.
When fully inflated the VIKING RescYou
TM
Horizon (PV9210) lifejacket provides buoyancy
of min. 275 Newton and is intended for persons
weighing from 40 kg up to more than 100 kg
with a chest measurement between 60-150 cm.
Production date as well as serial number are
placed on the ID label on the buoyancy chamber.

Horizon (PV9210)
lifejacket is available with either Halkey Roberts
®
inflator (manual inflation only or automatic)
or Hammar
®
inflator (automatic). Please check
which type of inflator your lifejacket is equipped
with. The lifejacket uses a 60 g CO2 cylinder.
Gas cylinders are dangerous goods, and must be
kept away from children and not misused.
Note:
The bobbin in the Halkey Roberts
®
inflator must
be replaced annually from first use. Do not use
bobbins that are more than four years old.
The production date is printed on the bobbin
itself.
2. TRAINING BEFORE USE
Train yourself in the use of the device and test
it in a swimming pool or another safe condition
before use. Inflate the lifejacket orally using the
oral inflation tube. Wear your normal clothes
when training. After testing, the buoyancy must
be emptied thoroughly of air.
3. INSTRUCTION FOR USE (FIGURE 1)
1. Put on as a jacket.
2. Close the front buckle.
3. Adjust the strap.
4. Close the crutch strap buckle.
5. The lifejacket inflates automatically
after water immersion (if equipped
with automatic inflator) or can
be manually inflated with a strong pull
of the release handle.
Remember to check that buckles are closed and
tighten adjustments before entering the water.
The automatically inflated lifejackets can be
inflated in three different ways:
a. Automatic inflation
The buoyancy chamber inflates within
approx. 5 seconds after water immersion.
b. Manual inflation
The lifejacket inflates with a strong pull
of the release handle placed at the right-
hand side of the lifejacket.
c. Oral inflation
Open the protective cover and blow air
into the oral inflation tube placed on
the left-hand side of the buoyancy chamber.
