IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The safety of electrical appliances from FIRST
Austria complies with the recognized technical
directives and legal regulations for safety.
Nevertheless, you and the other users of the
appliance should observe the following:
• Please read these instructions carefully
before using this appliance for the rst time
and keep them for further reference.
• This product has not been designed for
any other uses than those specied in this
manual.
• Before connecting the appliance to the
power source, check if the voltage indicated
on the appliance corresponds with the
mains voltage in your home. If this is not the
case, contact your dealer and do not use the
appliance.
• If the appliance is grounded (protection
classI), the wall outlet and any extension
to which it is connected must also be
grounded.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a
table or counter. Do not let the cord touch
hot surfaces.
• Do not operate or place any part of this
appliance on or near any hot surface (such as
gas or electric burner or a heated oven).
• Ensure that the appliance is used on a rm
and at surface out of reach of children, this
will prevent from overturning and avoid
damage or injury.
• Only use this product with the supplied
base unit. Do not use the base unit for other
purposes.
• To protect from electrical hazard, do not
immerse this appliance or cordset in any
liquids.
• If the appliance or the power cord shows
any signs of damage, do not operate it! Take
the product to an authorized and qualied
service center for inspection or repair.
• Ensure the appliance is turned o and
disconnected from power source before
lling it with water.
• Do not operate the product without water in
it.
• This device is intended for home use only, do
not use it commercially.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended
while it is operating.
• Do not overll as boiling water may be
ejected. The maximum level is marked on
the kettle.
• Do not use the kettle for any purpose other
than heating water. Other liquids or food will
contaminate the interior.
• To avoid possible steam damage, turn the
spout away from walls or cabinets when
operating the kettle.
• If operated on wood furniture, use a
protective pad to prevent damage to
delicate nishes.
• Always ensure the lid is closed and do not
lift it while the water is boiling. Scalding
may occur if the lid is removed during the
brewing cycles.
• Avoid contact with hot steam during or right
after operation. Risk of scalding!
• Always take care to pour boiling water slowly
and carefully without tipping the kettle too
fast.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving
the kettle containing hot water. Never lift the
kettle by it’s lid. Always use the body handle.
• Be careful of relling when the kettle is hot.
• The appliance becomes hot during
operation. Therefore, be careful not to touch
any of the hot parts.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the
power source before draining the water.
• Always disconnect the appliance from power
after use, before cleaning and in the event of
a malfunction.
• As long as the appliance is hot, it should be
supervised, even if it is not connected to the
mains. Allow the appliance to cool down
fully before cleaning and storing it.
• Do not pull directly on the power cord,
rather pull on the plug to disconnect the
appliance from the power source.
• The appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach
of children less than 8 years.
• We are excluded of liability for all damages
that may arise if the appliance is used for
purposes other than originally intended or if
it is used inappropriately.
• Repairs and other work undertaken on
the unit must only be done by authorised
specialist personnel!
BEFORE USING YOUR KETTLE
Before rst use, it is recommended to clean
the kettle by boiling the max capacity of water.
Discard the water and repeat.
This appliance can be used to boil fresh, cool
water only. Do not add ingredients or attempt to
boil other liquids.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The kettle can heat water to the selected
temperature and optionally keep it at the
selected temperature for up to 2 hours with the
keep warm function.
1. Place the appliance with the base station on
a dry, at and stable surface.
2. To ll the kettle, remove it from the power
base and open the lid by pressing the lid
release button, then ll the kettle with the
desired amount of water and close the lid
again. The water level must be within the
Min and Max mark.
3. Place the kettle back on the base station.
4. Connect the power cord to the mains.
5. Select the desired water temperature by
pressing the appropriate temperature
selection button, then press the on/o
button to start the heating process.
6. The kettle automatically stops heating when
the selected water temperature is reached.
7. Always disconnect the appliance from the
mains after use.
KEEP WARM FUNCTION:
This function maintains the selected water
temperature and reheats as needed when it
drops.
Pressing the keep warm button activates this
function. Pressing the key again deactivates
it. The keep warm function must be activated
before the water reaches the target temperature.
SIGNAL SOUNDS:
2 Beeps:
• When the appliance is plugged in.
• When the water temperature in the kettle
is reached, or an attempt is made to start
the heating process although the selected
temperature has already been reached or
exceeded.
1 Beep:
• When placing the kettle on the base.
• Each time you press any button.
• When the water temperature is reached for
the rst time with the keep warm function
active.
LEDINDICATORS:
On/O-button (7):
• Green light: The kettle is inactive/ready
• Red light: The kettle is active (heating
process activated)
Temperature selection buttons (8):
• Slow ashing: The water temperature in the
kettle is below the selected temperature –>
Heating process can be started.
• Fast ashing: The water temperature in
the kettle is already at least 5°C above the
selected temperature.
• Steady light: The water temperature in
the kettle corresponds to the selected
temperature.
