Thank you for purchasing an Escali Digital Scale.

Please read the following operation information to ensure the

proper function of your new scale.

HOW TO WEIGH

1. Press the “ON/TARE” button.

2. “0.00kg or 0 0 lb/oz” will appear on the display.

3. Select measuring unit (kg or lb/oz).

4. Place item slowly on the platform.

HOW TO USE THE “TARE” FEATURE

This feature allows you to obtain the exact weight of an item in a

container, by subtracting the weight of the container.

1. Press the “ON/TARE” button.

2. Select measuring unit (kg or lb/oz).

3. Place the container, without the item, slowly on the platform.

4. Press the “ON/TARE” button. A broken letter E will appear on the

display and the weight of the container will be removed. The display

value will reset to “0.00kg or 0 0 lb/oz”.

5. Slowly add the item to the container. The display will show the weight of

the item only.

HOW TO CLEAR “TARE” FEATURE

1. Remove all items from the platform.

2. Press the “ON/TARE” button. A broken letter E will appear on the

display and the weight of all items will be removed. The display value

will reset to “0.00kg or 0 0 lb/oz”.

Customize unit function

This function allows you to create your own preference unit. It

calculates the weight of an object in fractions or multiples of a user unit weight.

It acts as a point of comparison.

1. Press the “ON/TARE” button.

2. Press the “UNIT” button to select PRESET.

3. Place an object on the platform.

4. Press and hold the “ON/TARE” button until the pointer is blinking.

5. Immediately press the “ON/TARE” button again .

The display will show 1.00 and the customized unit is set.

6. Remove all items from the platform.

7. Place an item on the platform. The display will show the weight of

this item as a fraction or multiple of the preset unit (i.e. 0.85 means

this item is 85% of the weight of the preset unit, 1.30 means this item

is 130% of the weight of the preset unit).

Measuring What’s Next™

Please note:

The customized unit information will be in memory until

removal of the battery. Repeating step 1 – 5 will overwrite the preset

unit. Minimum weight for customized unit is 5 Kg / 11 Lb. An “E” will

show on the display if the item is below the minimum weight, or over

the maximum weight.

PROPER USE & CARE



Use and stow the scale at room temperature.



Use on a flat, level, and stable surface.



The scale is an instrument of precision. Do not submit the scale to shaking,

excessive vibration or other rough treatment.



The display may be affected by electromagnetic disturbances such as ra-

dios, microwaves, or cell phones. If such disturbances occur, remove the

source of the disturbance, and restart the scale.



Disassembling or tampering with the scale voids the warranty.



Clean the scale with dish soap, and a damp cloth.



Do not submerge in liquid; the scale is not waterproof.
