• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be at least
as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the worktop or
touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EC (Electromagnetic
Compatibility) and 06/95/EC (Safety of Domestic Electrical Appliances).
• WARNING; A cut off plug inserted into a 13amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard.
Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
• The hob surfaces can be very hot when the appliance is in use. DO NOT TOUCH hot surfaces
as possible injury could occur. Allow the hob to cool completely before handling or moving
this appliance.
• CAUTION; the plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and children.
These bags are not toys.
• The induction hob should be sited at least 10cm away from a wall, so the airflow through the
hob is not compromised. Do not insert anything in the air outlets.
• Do not place metal or magnetic articles such as credit cards, computer discs, etc. which are
affected by magnetic fields on the hob.
• The induction hob heats very rapidly, so place the food into the pan first before turning the
hob on. Heating an empty pan can discolour the metal and may warp the base.
• Place all pans centrally on the glass. Do not use a pan with a base larger than 26cm as the
heat created may cause the plastic casings to deform.
• Do not use a heat diffuser or place any other material between the hob and the pan when in
use.
• If the glass hob surface is cracked, turn the power off immediately and do not use.
• The induction hob has fully integrated safety features including pan detection, boil dry
protection and auto shutoff.
Note: Customers with implanted cardiac pacemakers or other electronic medical implants
may be advised by their doctors to avoid proximity to induction cooking surfaces
and other sources of magnetic fields. We therefore do not recommend the Lakeland
Induction Hob for sale to these customers.
USING THE INDUCTION HOB AND ITS FEATURES
Induction cooking uses an electromagnetic coil to convert energy into heat. When the hob is
turned on, and when an induction suitable pan is in place on the hob, a magnetic field is generated
which heats the pan and therefore the food inside it.
Only use flat-bottomed pans that are induction suitable with this hob. If you are unsure whether
the cookware you have is suitable for use with this hob test by holding a magnet to the base of
the pan. If you find that the magnet sticks, the pan can be used on the hob. If the cookware is
unsuitable for use, the hob will not detect the pan.
The induction hob is suitable for pans with a base diameter of 12cm–26cm. Metal cooking utensils
are not recommended since they can be heated through the induction hob if left in the pan during
cooking.
Turning the hob on and off
Place the pan with food on the hob. Turn the hob on by pressing and holding the on/off button.
The six red mode lights will blink on and off.
To turn off the hob press the on/off switch. The fan will run automatically for a minute to cool the
hob.
Selecting the mode and changing the power/temperature
Press the MODE button until the LED below the mode you require is illuminated on the display.
The unit will make a small sound as the electromagnetic coil is activated and the magnet ‘grips’
the pan and starts to heat.
The power/temperature can only be changed on the Hot Pot, Pan Fry and Stir Fry modes.
To change the power/temperature, sweep your finger around the heat control dial. Red indicator
lights will highlight the power and equivalent temperature on the display.
On the other modes the power/temperature is pre-set.

Timer
This induction hob has a timer function that allows you to cook for a certain amount of time before
switching off, this prevents food boiling dry or burning.
To set the timer, set your dish to cook on the desired mode setting. Then press the timer button,
the time is shown in minutes, and the display will show 000 to indicate that no time has been
set. Sweep your finger around the heat control dial to set your desired length of cooking time. On
Simmer mode the timer default setting is 120 minutes.
The hob will wait 6 seconds after you have set the time and then start heating. The display will then
count down the time left to cook. At the end of the timed session, ‘End’ will be displayed when the
cycle has finished. The hob will turn off and the fan will run for a minute to cool the hob. During
timer cooking on the Hot Pot, Pan Fry and Stir Fry modes you can adjust the heat up or down using
the heat control dial.
To stop the timer, turn the hob off, then back on again and it will reset to 000.

Child safety lock
To turn on the lock, when you’ve selected the mode and power/temperature, press the Child safety
lock for 2 seconds. A red light above the button will indicate the lock is on. When the lock is on,
only the On/Off switch can be used, all the other buttons will be locked. Press the child lock button
again for 2 seconds to unlock the hob.
